Coming all the way from USA, with my carry on luggage to Chase letterpress studio, Bangalore! The Chromatic Kannada woodtype, offers a fascinating blend of tradition and innovation. It devles into showcasing the making and creating of the typeface to the application on Wood. The opportunity to create faces from four-layer wood type seems like a unique chance to explore both the intricacies of the Kannada script and the artistry of woodtype printing. Learning about registration and color play in this context could open up so many creative possibilities. And delving into the process of woodtype "Janna" the typeface, would undoubtedly provide valuable insights into the rich history and techniques behind this art form.
